Climate Change Response
Since the adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015, the response to climate change has been accelerating worldwide. In the fashion industry, which carries a significant environmental burden, more proactive measures are being demanded. In this context, our company regularly identifies environmental risks, devises and implements response strategies, manages progress, and evaluates activities. Key risks include changes in consumer behavior toward a decarbonized society, the introduction of carbon taxes, loss of sales opportunities due to increased natural disasters, and decreased sales of heavy clothing due to rising average temperatures. We aim to realize a sustainable society through fashion as a lifestyle proposition company.
The calculation of CO₂ emissions for SANKYO SEIKO CO., LTD. (standalone) resulted in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions totaling 1,542.6 t-CO₂ for the fiscal year 2023. In order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, we will also work on calculating emissions on a consolidated basis, including group companies.
