LEONARD

LEONARD

BRAND CONCEPT

LEONARD is known for its glamorous and stunning colorful prints. Its history goes as far back as 1958. LEONARD established an innovative new printing technique to apply print designs onto knitted materials that was previously thought impossible, and holds an international patent for the technique. It then launched its collection of the first ever silk jersey print dresses using the slogan “150 grams of happiness” to promote the lightweight materials. The orchid that is called the origin of imagination has become the brand symbol.
Based on the concept of sparing no effort in the pursuit of beauty, the printing method that creates patterns with layers of screens is one of a kind. It was received by the French Comité Colbert in 1970 and designated Intangible Cultural Heritage by the French government in 2007.
Based on artisan techniques applied in not only the design, but in every aspect from the materials to the printing method and sewing, the finely-honed LEONARD brand remains cherished by women of all generations around the world.
