Jo Smith of DAKS Visits Japan as Vice President of the Royal Warrant Society

On Thursday, October 8, Jo Smith of DAKS Simpson Limited (DAKS), a consolidated subsidiary of our company, visited Japan in his capacity as Vice President of the Royal Warrant Society and hosted a talk show at the “British Fair 2026” held at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store.

Mr. Jo Smith serves as Vice President of the Royal Warrant Association, and at this event, he introduced the history of the “Royal Warrant,” one of the United Kingdom’s most representative traditions.
*A Royal Warrant is a designation granted to companies and individuals who have continuously provided goods or services to grantors within the British Royal Family, members of the Royal Family, or royal households. It requires the highest standards of quality, service, and trust.
On the day of the event, people of diverse nationalities gathered in a venue brimming with British ambiance to listen to Mr. Jo Smith’s speech.

DAKS’s relationship with the Royal Warrant—that is, its status as a purveyor to the British Royal Family—dates back to 1956, when the company was first granted a Royal Warrant by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh; today, it is held by His Majesty King Charles.
